Marvelous Meringue!

After my sister made a lemon meringue pie, I had to make one too!

It turned out very well- the lemon custard was a perfect blend of tart and sweet and the meringue was light and fluffy. The crust was meh. I suck at crust.

Everlasting Bagstopper

I knit this cute little bag from Knitty

It's the Everlasting Bagstopper
Yarn: Plymouth Fantasy Naturale, 2 skeins
Started: March 16
Completed: March 27
Needles: Knitpicks 5 and 10.5. I would use 6's next time for the bottom, because the 5's were excruciating to knit with.
It'll be great to take to Farmer's Market this summer. It is super stretchy and will hold a ton of stuff. I should cram it full of stuff and take a picture, but that is a 2 person job and Jerm is at work right now.

I couldn't find any wide ribbon that I liked, so after a failed attempt at fabric straps (the fabric was fraying horribly) I decided to go with two pieces of narrow ribbon.

I will probably make another one of these, I have 2 more skeins of this yarn and some other navy blue cotton. It's a super easy pattern and worked up pretty quickly.

Yummy!

After a lazy culinary start of the week, I decided to actually cook some good food yesterday and today.

Last night was Turkey Sourdough Sliders. Very tasty and not at all dry or bland, like some turkey burgers tend to be. Served with PepperJack and Garlic Mayo and a side of sweet potato fries.

Tonight we had Asian Lettuce Wraps. I didn't really use a recipe, but went off of Katy's instructions, which basically involved chicken, water chestnuts, celery, scallions, hoisin sauce and soy sauce. I added some garlic, crushed red pepper and a small amt of rice, just to bulk it up a bit. Served with leaves of boston lettuce, this was VERY tasty, if not a little difficult to eat.

We shall see what culinary feats I attempt this weekend. All I know is after seeing my sister's Lemon Meringue Pie I'm probably going to have to make one. I'm craving it!
