Happy Birthday, Will!

You weren't too happy about leaving that warm place you had grown so accustomed to. Plus, you were up at 8am without having to work or any other obligations, and nobody likes that.

Look at that bunch of black hair! That's probably why Mom had massive heartburn the last few weeks.

This is where they measured you and found out you were 8 pounds, 3 ounces and 22 inches long. Big boy.

You and Mom shortly after she worked so hard to bring you out to us. (My favorite pic)

Our first family picture, and just in time for Christmas cards.

Massive thanks to the hospital staff and the OB who delivered Will. It couldn't have gone better.

Best December 3rd ever!

Good Eats.

We've had some good eats around here the past few days!

Homemade Meatball Hot Pockets- yummy!

Shrimp & Grits. These pictures aren't great, but trust me when I say that this is one of the most delicious things I've ever made. Cheese grits first.

Topped with shrimp, sausage and other delicious flavors. YUM. YUM.

Jerm's birthday cheesecake. Mocha chocolate chip. Very, very good. I'll try and get a better live action pic, but I haven't managed to get a nice photogenic slice yet.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JEREMY!!

Thanks, Katy!!

Got an early birthday present in the mail the other day. Some delicious pasta from the specialty pasta lady at the farmer's market from Katy! Thanks! This lady sells amazing varieties of flavored pastas, but I'm always too cheap to buy them for myself!

We whipped up a little dinner last night with the Lemon-Basil Fettuccine and Garlic Butter Shrimp. YUM.
Thanks, Katy! You're the best!

Saving the Earth and Too Small Socks

Happy Belated Birthday, Mom!

I made a few goodies for my mom's birthday last week! Had to wait until she got them before I posted the pictures, though!

Yet another Everlasting Bagstopper.
This is such a great pattern. I hate knitting them, because the cotton isn't so great on my hands, but the result is so worth it.

Yarn is Sugar & Cream Confectionary Colors in Maple Sugar, though it sort of looks gross in this picture. It's more muted in person.
Full info on Ravelry.

And the Too Small Socks. I made these cute little summer socks out of a single skein of Lorna's Laces.
My first short row heel! I'm in love! I will never do a heel flap again!
Sadly, they're too small for my mom. Tara, I told her to give them to you! Mom, you'll get a new pair that fits better eventually! Grrrr.

Full info on Ravelry, again!

My Dad is Officially Old . . .

. . . and I have pics to prove it, from his 60th birthday bash.

The wife made a lot of treats.

My dad is apparently very proud of said treats, as well as his yard tools.

His grand-daughters sang him happy birthday. (and were very proud of themselves)

My dad then decided to wear his party hat. He may have been intoxicated.

Many people enjoyed the birthday bash, and I personally had a fun time. It doesn't hurt that we had Oklahoma Joe's BBQ ordered for the lunch, which made it pretty awesome when there was lots o'meat left over, so that they had to give the extras to their poorest child and his wife.
