To Be Fair...
I wasn't a complete waste of space last weekend, though it may appear that way from the last post. I cooked several things, worked on cleaning up the house, and finally got some curtains made for the living room. I couldn't find anything I wanted to buy, and all the fabric I looked at was ridiculously expensive.
Oddly, this fabric looked two shades of brown with some subtle blues at the store, but now in the window it looks more brown and gold with subtle greens. Whatever, I still like it. And the fabric was on mega-sale!
I also have made a valance for the kitchen and our bathroom, but those aren't anything exciting.

Chalk it to Me!
I completed another small home improvement project this weekend. The idea was blatantly ripped off from Brent & Bridget (thanks, guys!).
We painted a wall between our kitchen and living room first with magnetic primer and then with chalkboard paint. Now we have a magnetic chalkboard for grocery lists, to-do lists and our dinner menu!
It was super easy, we got the paint at Lowe's and will be really functional, I think.

A Day of Celebration!
This is a true day of celebration. Two reasons.
1. I am done with my pediatric surgery rotation. I have another surgery rotation later in the year, but I will worry about that later. I finally can have my life back and not spend 97 hours in one week at the hospital. Hooray!
2. We can finally get rid of the old couch! Those of you who know me will know how big of a deal this is. Our new living room furniture came today! Now we can get a coffee table, curtains and some art, and it will be like a real life house!

A New Table!
Yay, we finally have a kitchen table!
Of course I dragged my highly patient and wonderful husband to three stores to find exactly what we (I) were looking for, but we found it!

It's Finished!
Mostly. We still need to touch up a few corners or edges that weren't quite perfect, but other than that, it's pretty much done.
