Trick or Treat
I prefer treat.
We had about 25 or so trick-or-treaters this evening. No tricks. . . yet. Good times.
Happy Halloween!

The Haul...
The haul from SAFF.Luckily I got a good bit of this yarn for great sale prices. The peachy stuff in the upper left corner was 1.50/skein!
But still, a lot of yarn. I'm embarassed! And better get back to knitting!

Think of the Softest Thing You've Ever Touched...
This alpaca is SOFTER.
I got him at SAFF and I love him!
Jerm and I took a field trip to the Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair (aka Yarn Paradise) near Asheville today. We looked at lots of yarn, lots of people wearing ill advised knitting items (hand knit sweater with a shawl? Draw the line somewhere, people) and I spent WAY too much money.
This is what we saw when we walked in. And there were other buildings with more of the same.
I wanted to bring this guy home, but didn't think it was practical.
And I wore my new February Lady Sweater.
Ravelry link. I got lots of comments on it! The best part? It cost me about $8.50 to knit this sweater!
It was a good day! And my husband is awesome for going with me and being such a good sport!

This did not smell good. But, the power was out for 2+ hours and we needed some light!

To Be Fair...
I wasn't a complete waste of space last weekend, though it may appear that way from the last post. I cooked several things, worked on cleaning up the house, and finally got some curtains made for the living room. I couldn't find anything I wanted to buy, and all the fabric I looked at was ridiculously expensive.
Oddly, this fabric looked two shades of brown with some subtle blues at the store, but now in the window it looks more brown and gold with subtle greens. Whatever, I still like it. And the fabric was on mega-sale!
I also have made a valance for the kitchen and our bathroom, but those aren't anything exciting.

Lazy Sunday
This is apparently what happens when you're on call seemingly every other day and you finally get a day of rest. Watching some TV, eating out of a jumbo-sized animal cracker container, and putting your feet up.

Our State Fair is a Great State Fair!
Ok, so it wasn't technically a state fair, but it was the Dixie Classic Fair, second largest fair in North Carolina!
We checked out the fair today and it was AWESOME! There were lots of animals, a 600 pound pumpkin, award winning pasture grass (???), a whole building of arts and crafts (I could totally win a blue ribbon for my knitting), and of course, fair food!! Plus, check out this cute alpaca! He was so soft!
It was my first fair, and I have to say, I'm a big fan!
Mmmm, funnelcake!
